Peter A. Stanford
Founding Attorney
A Career Built on Fighting for the Injured
After graduating from law school in 1983, Peter clerked for a Federal Judge for two years. He then moved into insurance defense, representing insurance companies in personal injury claims. He was good at it — but he was never comfortable with it.
Working on the defense side, Peter saw firsthand how insurance companies strategize to minimize payouts, delay settlements, and deny legitimate claims. In 1989, he made the decision to use that knowledge to fight for injured people instead of against them.
For over 36 years, Peter has been a tireless advocate for his clients. His insurance-defense background gives Stanford Law Offices a unique advantage — he anticipates the other side's tactics because he used to execute them.
Community Involvement
Peter is deeply involved in the Wisconsin community. Stanford Law Offices proudly sponsored the AMA District 16 Annual Banquet and Awards Ceremony in 2025 — the local chapter of the American Motorcyclist Association that organizes motorcycle and ATV events across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
